System Council U-7, IBEW is the sole and exclusive collective bargaining agent with New York State Electric & Gas. System Council U-7 is comprised of four Local Unions;

SCU-7 President is Gary L. Bonker who is also Local 83’s VICE PRESIDENT which represents the workers in Binghamton, Brewster, Elmira, Hornell, Ithaca, Liberty Oneonta and Plattsburgh.

SCU-7 Vice President is Leo Yanez who is also Local 83’s PRESIDENT which represents the workers in Binghamton, Brewster, Elmira, Hornell, Ithaca, Liberty, Oneonta and Plattsburgh.

Local 83 represents the workers in Binghamton, Brewster, Elmira, Hornell, Ithaca, Liberty Oneonta and Plattsburgh. Representing Local 83 is Gary Bonker, President and Leo Yanez, Vice President.

Local 249 represents the workers in Auburn and Geneva. Representing Local 249 is President Tim Hlywa and Vice President Dave Androsko.

Local 966 represents Lancaster and Lockport.Representing Local 966 is President Michael Lutz, and Vice President Chris Fox.

Local 1143 represents Mechanicville.  Representing Local 1143 is President Matthew Green and Vice President Bob Smith.

The council’s regular monthly meeting is held the second Friday of every month.
