Workers Stand for America Rally in Philly: August 11th

Posted:
July 31, 2012

Business Agent Don Tuttel will be working with all the Unit leadership and helping to coordinate car pools and caravans down to Philadelphia. Drivers will be reimbursed for gas and tolls, and t-shirts will be provided to all members and their family who attend. We will ALL meet at the Mann Music Center, 5201 Parkside Avenue Philadelphia PA 19131 at 10 am, then shuttle over to the rally location together as a union. Lineman and outside members - please bring your hardhats, and all members try and bring an American Flag. Please contact Don Tuttel at (607) 798-9718 or on his cell at (607) 725-9861 or email dt83 at stny.rr.com.

Local 83 IBEW will be traveling down to Philly and joining tens of thousands of working people from across the Northeast along with the national AFL-CIO, and the national Building and Construction Trades Department on Saturday, August 11, 2012 in Philadelphia to fight for the survival of America's middle class and an economy that works for the 99%

Organized labor built the middle class in our country and is now leading the charge to preserve it. Thousands upon thousands of union members, students, social activists, and community partners from across the country will converge in Philadelphia to send a message that the middle class cannot survive in an economy that only benefits the 1%. We will send a message that America is not a plutocracy to be governed by the ultra-wealthy, but a democracy which bestows power to its people and equal opportunity to all.

Saturday, August 11th, 2012

11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Eakins Oval
(In front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art)

2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130

America is the greatest country in the world because we never stop improving ourselves. And on August 11th we are going to recognize the need for a Second Bill of Rights to ensure the American Dream is there for our children as it was there for us.
